Vodka or wodka. Distilled from a base wine which can be Potato, grain, sugar beet or if made in someones garage more or less anything is the one of the worlds most popular spirits. The name Vodka is from the Slavic word Voda, Vodka being 'little water'. There are two main Vodkas, Clear Vodka and Flavoured Vodka. The Flavoured Vodkas are traditional to each area of Vodka production. Russian flavoured Vodka is traditionally flavoured with honey and pepper. The Ukrainians produce a Vodka with St johns wort. The Nordic countries like to add herbs to their Vodka for summer drinking and the Polish like their Vodka very strong with a 95% ABV Vodka available.
