Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 2eme Cru Classe St Julien 2006. Bruno Borie continues to make serious wine here. Lovely ripe berry fruit on the nose, gloriously textured, almost silky - Classic Bordeaux. One of the wines of the vintage. layered & rich, with lots of liquorice and berry character. Turns to currants, full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long finish. Very serious, like it a lot, 1996 again. This is almost 95 - 100. - James Suckling. Drink 2017
