Description

"AIX" Rosé, Maison Saint Aix, AOP Coteaux d' Aix en Provence, France, 2024

Grapes: A blend of mostly Grenache plus Syrah & Cinsault, unoaked.

Producer Tasting Note

AIX is a well-balanced premium Provence rosé with a typical hypnotising salmon pink colour. The nose is fresh and fragrant, delicate yet youthful with sophisticated notes of fresh red fruits, peach and subtle flower hints. It offers roundness on the palate and a beautiful aromatic depth, before finding freshness and some minerality in its long and precise finish.

Critics' Tasting Notes:

"This rosé stood out for its exuberant fruity charm. From the cool northern reaches of Coteaux d’Aix, comes this very pale creamy white pink. Fragrant aromas of orchard blossom, perfumed pears, apples and fresh citrus, the wine opens out to rich white fruit, pears, ripe white peaches, raw, toasty hazelnuts and ripe concentrated weightiness. Balanced by fresh, well-integrated acidity, this rosé is silky smooth and elegant, the ripe charm of the fruit gives attractive flavour and joyousness."

89/100 points, Elizabeth Gabay MW, DECANTER, May 2025

"A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault from some of the appellation's highest vineyards at 420m above sea level. Delicate and fruity, raspberry and marshmallow spring to mind, the palate following on with a dry, gastronomic character, small red berries but a very clean mineral and lemon finish."

90/100 points, Ton Cannavan, June 2025

"This vibrant and perfumed wine reveals sliced strawberries, grapefruit peel and summer flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied and smooth, it has a sleek, delicate palate filled with crunchy nectarines and pink cherries. The finish is fresh with a light phenolic touch. Drink now."  James Suckling, December 2024

Also awarded "Gold Medal", MUNDUS VINI Spring Tasting, 2025

Maison Saint AIX is owned and run by the Kurver family who moved to the region from their native Holland, purchased the domain and founded the AIX brand in 2009. Their AIX Rosé has become a benchmark for Provence Rosé and is now enjoyed in many of the world’s top hotels and restaurants. Nestled in the rolling Provence hills, North-East of Aix-en-Provence, Maison Saint AIX is one of the largest domains in the AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence with a holding of 75 hectares planted at an altitude of 400-420 metres. This wonderful location with its cool nights and hot days and regular cooling Mistral winds are the perfect conditions for growing Grenache, Syrah & Cinsault which make up the backbone of AIX Rosé.

Food Match: Pair with salmon steaks, endive and ham in Mornay white sauce, chicken 'a la king', tagliatelle with ham.
