Alpataco Pinot Noir, Familia Schroeder, Patagonia, Argentina 2018
Grape variety, 100% Pinot Noir lightly oaked.
Deeply perfumed aromas with notes of black cherry, redcurrant, summer fruit and plenty of power, spice and a silky balance. Sweet tannins and balanced acidity with fine notes of vanilla and cocoa powder. Hand-picked from the vineyards, located at the Neuquen River Valley, the grapes show a remarkable freshness and richness of flavours that translate into this attractive and vibrant wine.
Familia Schroeder are one of the pioneers of re-establishing vineyards in Patagonia and have a magnificent estate and winery in San Patricio del Chanar a lovely river valley within a harsh desert environment. Dry sunny days, cool nights and frequent winds characterise this terroir.
The Alpataco, after which the wine is named, is a thorny bush that embodies the spirit of resilience needed to prosper in the endless Patagonian plains.
Why not try with cold meats, game, duck with mango, or pan fried tuna or salmon?
