A delicate colour and golden hues are a sign of the wine’s maturity. On the nose a first impression of fresh almonds, then yellow-flesh fruit aromas evoking peach and mango; toasted, roasted notes accompanied with dried citrus and pink grapefruit. In the moth a lovely aromatic fullness with honey flavours and a smooth chalky texture; candied lemon notes and a delicious bitterness, a wonderfully refreshing finish.
Powerful and great depth. Will age well. Exclusively from the grands and premiers crus vineyards in the classic Champagne region of France. The 2007 vintage is a blend of 16 villages, 75% of which are grand cru and 25% from premier cru. Bollinger use only the ‘cuvée’ juice in the making of La Grande Année and the first fermentation is always carried out 100% in old oak barrels. The Grand année is aged on its lees for a minimum of five years. After manual riddling and disgorging, the wine rests for a minimum of three months prior to shipment.
