The colour is a deep red with touches of youthful violet in the hue. The aroma is warm and inviting. Initially liquorice, dark fruits and menthol come forward which opens up to reveal white pepper and dried herbs, fresh earth and savoury meats. The palate is well balanced from start to finish. It is finely textured and structured with fresh dark berry fruit, spice, coffee and chocolate and finishes on a savoury fruit note.
Ian Botham and Bob Willis are two of the biggest names in the modern era of World Cricket. Geoff Merrill's reputation on the International stage of Winemaking is equally impressive. A mutual passion for their respective professions, cricket and wine, drew them together during the English tour of Australia in 1978. Since then a lasting friendship has developed over many bottles opened and balls bowled.
