The Chapoutier family have been making wine in the Rhône Valley since 1808, but it is since 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took over that the wines really began to speak of their origin. Michel Chapoutier believes in allowing each parcel of land to make the best natural wine it can and so much of his estate is farmed biodynamically.
A tireless programme of research and improvements has taken place to create wines of character that express their terroir fully. Extensive vineyard holdings in the very best sites including Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, St Peray, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape deliver the finest fruit that expresses its appellation. Following this, minimal intervention in the winery ensures great fruit is turned in to memorable wine.
Michel Chapoutier’s wines from the Rhône Valley are amongst the most highly acclaimed wines in the World.
