Catarratto is a white grape variety originating in Sicily used as a major blending component for making light, dry wines. In western Sicily, it's mostly used in the production of fortified Marsala wines. Often neutral in taste, good examples are juicy with lemon/citrus and orchard fruit (apple/peach) flavours. Inzolia, Grillo, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay varieties are commonly blended with Catarratto. Drink with antipasti, fish and seafood dishes.
