Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey Domaine des Malandes 2014
Chablis 1er Cru, Vau de Vey 2014, Domaine des Malandes, Burgundy, France
Grape variety, 100% Chardonnay unoaked
"The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey was cropped at 58 hectolitres per hectare from 45-year-old vines and 30% of the crop was fermented in wooden barrels, but the entirety was aged in stainless steel. It has a very simplistic bouquet with light white flower and chalky scents that are just missing a little vigor at the moment. The palate is balanced with a touch of white peach on the entry. The acidity is well judged and it feels harmonious, perhaps tender in the mouth. It just flows to its conclusion while maintaining fine tension. This is very elegant and should delight over the next decade. 91 pts" Neal Martin robertparker.com
