Château de Fosse-Sèche Arcane Saumur Blanc is a monovarietal Chenin Blanc white wine from the AOC Saumur Blanc, Anjou, in the Loire Valley. 
The property was owned by the church for centuries. The monks settled there for the first time in the thirteenth century, and began to cultivate the nearby vines. In 1998, the Piré family, originally from Belgium but who most recently spent several decades making wine in Madagascar, purchased the 16 hectares of vines and medieval château. Today, the quality-minded estate is run by twins Guillaume and Adrien. Using only organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Biodyvin) techniques, they believe in low yields (45hl/ha), late harvesting and picking only top quality fruit. Under the watchful supervision of Guillaume in the cellar, Château de Fosse-Sèche produces wines that are elegant, beautifully balanced with high concentration and depth. 

Arcane Saumur Blanc is the result of a manual selection of the winery’s best Chenin Blanc. The must ferments spontaneously, without added commercial yeasts, at a low temperature, to preserve and achieve fruity and fresh aromas. Then it ages on its total lees for 9 months in French oak barrels. 

It has a good storage ageing potential, up to 15 years if kept in optimal conditions. Good enough for Michelin 3* restaurants!
