Château du Tertre, Margaux, Bordeaux, France, 2009
Appealing nose of ripe, fresh black summer fruits, on the palate there are layers of cassis nuances that meld together with silky tannins, giving a velvety texture. In addition to the fruit, there is a backbone of firm tannins and acidity. An elegant, masculine wine and an excellent example of classic Margaux.
"Tasted blind. Deep, layered, dark crimson. Fresh and sweet and easy. Not complex by any means but it doesn’t have the besetting 2009 sin of excessively drying finish." 16/20 Jancis robinson www.jancisrobinson.com
