80% Merlot & 20% Cabernet Franc with around 18 months in oak (25% New).
The wine is a compote of black and red fruits, very pure in character. A hint of toasted oak on the nose, with balanced acidity and freshness.
Established in the mid-1600’s by the then owner of Haut Brion, the 57-acre (23-hectare) grounds of this château have been in the Massonie family for three generations. Many of the vines are 60 years old. This is a Classic Merlot dominated blend from Lalande-de-Pomerol. 2015 Was the Pomerol vintage and this wines has many of the benefits of the neighbouring Pomerol wines without the price.
