Grapes: A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, 60 year old vines, hand harvested, unfined, unoaked, aged 6 months in concrete tanks

Dark in colour, ranging from ruby-red to almost black. On the nose: summer fruit, blackcurrant and blackberry, Provençal spices (garrigue), pepper, a hint of vanilla with a touch of gaminess. Reliably complex nose. All these aromas resurface on the palate in the company of some very subtle tannins. Generous and mouth-filling, boasting superb persistence on the palate. Lovely fresh finish. Amazingly well-balanced.

"A blend of mostly Grenache Noir (75%) with smaller parts Syrah and Mourvèdre, all destemmed and matured for six months in concrete tanks, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape les Galets de la Berthaude reveals a dense, ripe bouquet of licorice, spices, dark berries and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, structured and extracted, it's dense with a fleshy core of fruit and has an assertive tannic frame that paves the way to a long but dry finish. Crafted from vines planted on a combination of galets roulés, safres and red sandstone, it's a good effort." Drink 2024-2034
