Côtes De Beaune Villages, Louis Latour, Burgundy, France, 2019
100% Hand picked Pinot Noir, clay/limestone soils, 50hl/ha yield, 25 year average vine age, open vat fermentation, 10 to 12 months ageing in stainless steel vats and French oak barrels
The Côte de Beaune-Villages appellation is applied exclusively to red wines from 16 communes in the Côte de Beaune including Saint-Aubin, Pernand-Vergelesses and Auxey-Duresses. Maison Louis Latour carefully selects the grapes that are most representative of the appellation to produce this wine.
Our Côte-de-Beaune Villages 2019 unveils a ruby hue. Its nose reveals notes of strawberry and undergrowth. These notes can also be found in its mouth, round with supple tannins, as well as aromas of liquorice.
"This Côte de Beaune Villages has a beautiful ruby red colour and plenty of character with pleasant notes of strawberry and undergrowth. It can also be served slightly chilled. Pale translucent red with fresh red cherries and spice; fresh and juicily-fruited with red berries, some spice and gaminess. Well-structured with very low tannins and good acidity. Good+. Match with grilled meats, patés and terrines, seared tuna or chicken."
Tom Lewis, November 2022
To be enjoyed with grilled meat, charcuterie, meat terrine and cheeses.
