Crozes-Hermitage, Frederic Reverdy, Northern Rhone, 2017
Syrah aged in oak for 12 months.
A full bodied wine. Clean, dry and well balanced, exotically spicy with dark, ripe fruit and oak.
Ideal as an aperitif or with salads (Lyon salad, warm goat cheese salad), grilled meat, red meat (steak, duck, game) and cheeses.
Continuing the work of his father Frédéric Reverdy, Jean Orens Ferraton created his own vineyard in 1946 in the Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage appellations. In 1998, vineyards were converted into Biodynamic farming, and selected parcels were vinified separately in order to show the diversity of the terroir. Today, Ferraton Père et Fils is a small family-owned business that operates independently but under the Chapoutier expertise and finance.
