This fruit-driven wine has a bright red ruby colour. Fruity nose with cherry and raspberry to the fore with subtle floral notes such as liquorice and peony. These flavours are mirrored on the palate with soft, supple fruit, good balance and a delicate spice on the finish.
At the edge of the Mediterranean sea, the Oppidum Romain d’Ensérune dominates the terroir of the Ensédune wines. It is characterized by one of the warmest and driest climates of France located at the west of Béziers. Wines have been produced here for over a thousand years, but it is only recently that the specific region of Ensérune has come to the fore.
The renowned co-operative of Foncalieu has played a major part in this with their Ensédune range, which represents the fruits of a collaboration between winegrowers and the winery. The focus has been on unusual grape varieties for monovarietal wines
