Godello is a white variety of wine grape grown in north-western Spain, in particular in Galicia. The Gouveio found in northern Portugal is thought to be the same grape variety.

The wines gain in complexity and depth with time in bottle, as Riesling does, the Godello fruit flavour turning from apple to quince, with something reminiscent of a Chenin Blanc from the Loire.”
