Gouguenheim Bonarda Syrah 2013

Current stock: 1

Gouguenheim Bonarda Syrah, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina 2013

50% Syrah 50% Bonarda

Aging takes place during 4 months in American and French oak.

Medium to dark ruby coloured. Shows the mineral side of Syrah, with plenty of plummy fruit and hints of chocolate, violets and spice. Long and fruit filled finish.

The grapes come from the 98 acres vineyard, located in the Uco Valley, which is over 3.600 feet above sea level. This region has a desert climate with 320 days of sun exposure a year and big temperature amplitude between day and night that reaches 30°F in summer. The soils are sandy and the water comes from the snow of the Andes Mountains by irrigation. All these exceptional conditions allow a perfect ripening of the grapes. This wine undergoes 15 days of fermentation between 25 – 28 ºC.

Hello big boy

A big black wine with smooth blackcurrant flavours. Well mad wine with enough tannin for it to develop over the next few years.
