Gouguenheim Flores del Valle Blue Melosa, Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2013
100% Malbec with 12 Months in first oak barrels, at least 12 months in bottle before release.
The grapes come from a 98 acre vineyard, located in the Uco Valley, which is over 3,600 feet above sea level. The soils are sandy and the water comes from the snow of the Andes Mountains by irrigation. All these exceptional conditions allow a perfect ripening of the grapes.
Dark ruby colour. Pure, sweet fruit on the nose, including red fruits, black cherries, blackberries and currants. The palate is concentrated with good acidity and a spicy structure with Mocha flavours coming through, a red wine with real polish and elegance.
