Description
Halfpenny Green Anson's Vale White, England
A blend of classic English grape varieties.
Aromas of pear, elderflower and lemon. A dry white, with refreshing acidity, having flavours of citrus and elderflower with a fruity and floral finish.
The wine is named after the Avro Ansons which used to fly from the nearby Halfpenny Green Airfield.
Established in 1983 by the Vickers family in South Staffordshire, Halfpenny Green now has 30 acres of vineyards which are looked after by founder, Martin Vickers. His son, Clive, is the winemaker of these award-winning wines. Sixteen different varieties are planted, most of which are hybrids suitable to the changeable English weather, but classic French grapes are planted for the production of sparkling wines.
