Hamilton Russell Chardonnay Tasting 12th April 2011. After a customer commented on this wine the staff at Frazier's decided to try it.
Now Hamilton Russell is perhaps the finest wine producer from South Africa. He has been trying with his Chardonnay to emulate Chablis. We opened the wine the nose was clean and fresh, the wine bright in the glass. However an initial taste led to hasty a conclusion that the wine was past it. However given time the wine opened up to a fabulous flavour and great length of finish. Not to everyone’s taste and defiantly requiring food.
