Description
Chateau La Fleur Petrus, Pomerol, Bordeaux, France, 2003
Grapes: A blend comprising mostly Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot, 19ha vineyard on gravel & deep clay soils, manual harvest, aged 16-18 months in French oak (50% new)
Situated just to the west of Petrus, itself, La Fleur-Petrus was bought by negociant Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 and is considered to be one of the greatest Pomerol properties.
"A sexy, soft, fleshy, medium-bodied, fully mature Pomerol, the 2003 La Fleur Petrus possesses notes of jammy cherries, licorice and underbrush."
89/100 points, Robert M. Parker Jr., WINE ADVOCATE, August 2014
