Meursault Les Grands Charrons, Domaine Vincent Latour, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France, 2018

Grape: 100% Chardonnay, 0.93ha vineyard to the west of the village, vines planted in 1956, 1988 & 1989, hand picked, barrel fermented, lees aged for 12 months in large oak barrels (then 4 to 6 months in vats). No batonnage is used.

Colour: Brilliant gold with silver highlights. Nose: Very fine floral note, touch of vanilla. Palate: Dense and rich, finishing with freshness and elegance.

"Cask sample. Quite a subtle nose – and palate. Seems more restrained than the St-Jean. Attractive yet not overtly complex in style." Drink 2021-2027

Since taking over his father’s estate in 1998, Vincent Latour’s wines have been highly praised both in Burgundy and further afield. A new cellar has just been constructed which houses Vincent’s interesting mix of oak casks. Delicious wines with excellent richness and minerality.
