Miraval Cotes de Provence Rose, Côtes de Provence, France, 2021   

40% Grenache/Garnacha , 30% Cinsault, 20% Rolle, 10% Syrah/Shiraz. The wine was fermented separately with 95% in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and 5% in oak barrels and then blended post fermentation. 

The wine has a beautiful pale, petal-pink colour, with bright nuances. On the nose, it has aromas of fresh redcurrants, lemons and spring flowers. It finishes with a refreshing acidity, minerality and a saline finish.

Château Miraval is located in the Provence village of Correns, the first 100% organic village in France. All of the crops, including grapes, are grown organically in this wild and picturesque town. Tucked away in its own private valley, the Château is surrounded by ancient woodlands and olive groves. In 2012, owners Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie partnered with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel fame, who oversee wine production at the estate. Their continued dedication to improving quality in both the vineyards and the cellar, have seen the wines go from strength to strength, with Château Miraval today considered one of the great names of Provence. 

"Plump and rounded on the palate, Miraval's 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose follows that up with a mouthwatering, citrusy finish. It's a pretty standard Provence offering but executed at a high level, with attractive scents of crushed stone accenting peach, melon and lime-like notes. Just who owns this wine estate may be in the hands of a French court, but the winemaking is firmly under the control of the Perrin family and reflects their high standards of quality."
