Chianti Fiasco (the one in the basket), Italy.
An unoaked blend of Sangiovese and Canaiolo Nero which is a soft and flavoursome wine with good depth, soft fruit and easy tannins on the finish. Probably the most well known and recognisable wine from Tuscany.
Kaba Gayda Merlot Cabernet Rubin, Bulgaria.
An intensely fruity blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Rubin (a crossing of Nebbiolo and Syrah) varieties. Ruby coloured with soft crimson nuances. The nose has ripe blackcurrants, plums and cherries. The palate is smooth and harmonious with a soft, long finish.
Chateau Argadens Bordeaux Rouge, France.
A "Claret" of majority Merlot with the rest being Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep, dark red colour. The nose, although young, is remarkably rich. It reveals great aromatic complexity with notes of fresh fruit, red and blackberries accompanied by toasted notes. On the palate, it is structured and elegant and beautifully balanced which gives it a great persistent finish.
Vega Tempranillo Rioja Blanco, Spain.
This Rioja Blanco has complex and expressive aromas, intense notes of tropical fruits and white flowers over delicate hints of herbs. Unctuous and sweet silky texture from the ageing on its fine lees in French oak barrels. A complex wine which will keep well for many years to come.
Loureiro Vinho Verde Ramos, Portugal.
This Vinho Verde uses mostly Loureiro with a small proprtion of Alvarinho grapes. Fresh, crisp and dry. Pale straw colour with green tints. Floral nose with abundant apples and pear aromas. A clean minerality on the palate showing apples and citrus fruit characters that provide good acidity and freshness on the finish.
Macon Blanc Villages Chateau de Charnay, France.
Chateau de Charnay's Macon is 100% unoaked Chardonnay with aromas of white flowers, citrus and yellow fruits. Typical of this white Burgundy appellation, the wine has a rounded palate and a good balance of fruit and acidity. A perfect aperitif wine.
