The estate has been in the ownership of the present family for some ten generations and comprises of 15 hectares of vines in the prestigious communes of Saint-Andelain, Tracy and Pouilly.

This is a well established family domaine at `Les Berthiers` in the village of Pouilly sur Loire. The wine is elegant and well balanced with a light smoky aroma and a hint of gunflint and elderberry. It is wonderfully rich with nettles, gooseberry and minerals on the palate, but balanced by good weight of lemony acidity and a full flinty finish. This dry white has layers of clean Sauvignon Blanc fruit combined with added complexity due to the minerality derived from these soils.

Critic's Tasting Note:

"The wine has a pale lemon color. The nose is fragrant and pure. It expresses notes of crisp stone fruits (white peach, white nectarine, green plum), green apple and yellow lemon, combined with notes of white flowers (apple blossom, acacia) and a slightly sweet touch of passion fruit. There is also a slight herbaceous hint (boxwood) and a delicate salinity in the background. On the palate, the wine offers substance and a lively and refreshing tangy side. It expresses notes of fresh citrus fruits (yellow lemon, lime), fresh rhubarb, gooseberries, as well as a floral (wildflowers) and slightly herbaceous (cut grass) touch. The finish is fresh, chiseled, with lively acidity and a good bitterness of lime, combined with a delicate salinity on the finish. A straight, fresh wine, with good persistence on the palate."
