97% Tempranillo with 3% Graciano. Aged in 40% brand new and 60% second use, French oak barrels. 14 months in barrels and 30 months cellaring in bottle. 

Deep red, bright and brilliant colour, with a light red colour background. The nose is very expressive of live red fruit. Sensations of fresh cherry, light spices and some earthy wet notes. The palate exhibits medium volume, light but fresh, red fruit, fine tannins. Very delicate and very long. 

"The 2015 Roda I feels very complete, from a year of full ripeness when the grapes achieved more nuance and flavor and the tannins seem to have ripened nicely. It's a powerful year with clout, quite classical (but with the touch of French oak), already starting to develop some tertiary aromas and more nuance. There's something balsamic in there, even minty, I'd say. In 2015, it only had 3% Graciano to complement the Tempranillo from old vines that fermented with indigenous yeasts. The élevage lasted 16 months and was in 50/50 new/second use barriques. "97% Tempranillo, 3% Graciano. From bush vines that are at least 30 years old, with yields limited to 1.5 kg per vine. The philosophy is that it is blended with parcels that have ripened in a black-fruit profile that vintage. The aim is that 'in the mouth, the volume becomes evident, the fruit complexity nicely surrounds the mouth cavity showing the numerous and polished tannins. The wine has great length and a fruity and fresh sensation will last, inviting you to continue drinking.' Spontaneous fermentation in French oak vats and aged in French oak barriques for 16 months (50% new and 50% second use).
Healthy dark, shaded garnet. Rich, sweet, compact nose. Then admirably savoury, pure Tempranillo notes on the finish. Clearly very ambitious, as the price indicates, in the modern idiom but not too overdone. Refreshing finish after the velvety ripe start. Long and neat.
