Susumaniello

Susumaniello is a rare red grape from the Puglia region of southern Italy. A deep red in colour, the wines have flavours of red berries and plums with richer examples showing additional notes of pepper spice and dark chocolate. The variety is found mostly in Salento, with small amounts also grown in the DOCs of Brindisi and Squinzano. Pair this wine with all types of meat dishes including beef, pork and venison.
