Grapes: A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, stony clay & granite soils, hand harvested, 18 months' ageing in French oak barrels (33% new) 

Producer Tasting Note:

This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vineyards planted in 1998, one of the first at the Fundo Trinidad estate in the west of the Maipo Valley, in what is known as coastal Maipo. Very much in the Grey line, this has soft tannins, ripe fruit (fruitillas/strawberry, raspberry & cassis), spicy tones, and a layer of herbal aromas that lend a touch of freshness to this elegant, subtle, and very well-balanced Cabernet

A non-traditional style of Cabernet Sauvignon, revealing the typical characteristics of the variety but from a very elegant perspective. In place of the classic robustness, in this wine you can discern the subtle notes of chocolate, tobacco and black pepper, together with the fine French oak, which gives it a long, smooth finish.

"This wine is from vines planted in the Trinidad Vineyard, in coastal Maipo in 1998. The style of cabernet in the zone, and those from Ventisquero in particular, focuses on fruit and smooth tannins. Like this one—its tannins are polished, the fruit is red, and a light touch of spice lends complexity and charm. A wine that shows a distinct style of fruitier and more herbal cabernet."
