Rondo

First produced in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s, Rondo, is a hybrid grape variety bred from Sankt-Laurent and Zarya Severa. Producing deeply coloured red wines, Rondo is well suited to cold climates and is found mainly in Germany. Also grown around the UK, in Scandinavia and the Netherlands, it's recently been planted on the 57th north parallel in Latvia where an oak aged red is made with notes of cherries, pepper and chocolate. Try Rondo wines with grilled pork, salmon & tuna, or a beef stew with vegetables.
