Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz wine blends. Many of Australia's archetypal reds use a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grape varieties. Found at all price levels, these wines are usually oak aged and are full-bodied with rich, dark fruit flavours and an opulent, velvety texture. The blend is also now used in South Africa, with a small number of producers in Chile, Brazil and even Lebanon, Israel & India. In France, the wines are more likely to be labelled as Cabernet/Syrah and tend to be found in various IGP regions in the south of the country.
