Grapes: 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. 12–15 months ageing in French oak. Average vine age 35 years. Situated just south of the Margaux appellation.
The property is now owned by the Australian wine company, Treasury Wine Estates.
Consultant winemaker is Hubert de Bouard of Chateau Angelus, Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé.
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cambon la Pelouse is scented of cedar, tar and earth with a core of warm plums and cassis with mocha and lavender hints. The palate is full-bodied, firm and laden with fruit, supported by grainy tannins and finishing long."
(90-92/100) points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate, April 2019
"Mid crimson. Subtle aroma of black fruit and stone dust, black olive too. Sinewy but not lean. The tannins are already rounded and slimmed down. Well-balanced whole. (JH)"
16/20 points, Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, December 2021
