Drinking at it's peak now. The colour is deep with an opaque black/garnet core. The nose has much more definition and vigour than the ’91 with sweet ripe black cherries, bilberry and violets. Very lifted and lively. The palate is sweet, ripe and elegant with a lovely poise and tension, certainly the best Croft since the ’66. Very ripe tannins with black cherries, bilberry, cassis and a minerally quality coming through towards the finish. A return to form, a lovely Croft with a coquettish quality.
"The 1994 Croft exhibits an impressive dark ruby/purple colour, and a developed, forward, more evolved style than expected. It is moderately sweet, full-bodied, expansive, pure, and rich, but made in an up-front, flattering style. Although outstanding, it is not one of the superstars of the vintage. It will keep for twenty years." Robert Parker 90/100 1996
