After four Merlot-dominant vintages, the 2023 Lilian Ladouys, with 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, reflects what will be the new norm for this estate as restructured parcels return to production. Offering up aromas of dark berries, lilac and licorice, it's medium-bodied, fleshy and suave, with a charming, supple profile and attractive purity and precision. Some 20% of the blend is maturing in larger 400-liter barrels.

In 2020, Château Lilian Ladouys embarked on a mission to convert all its vineyards to organic agriculture. The Château has achieved 100% organic farming across all its plots. The estate is set to receive official organic certification in 2024. Château Lilian Ladouys promotes sustainable practices among its team, focusing on soil aeration and preserving microbial life. Central to their viticultural strategy is the enhancement of mycorrhizal networks, vital for the symbiotic relationship between the soil microorganisms and the vine roots, helping the vines absorb essential nutrients. The Château also practices a mix of soil cultivation and grass planting, along with specially produced compost and green manure, enhancing the vitality of their vineyards. The dedication to environmental stewardship was recognised in 2018 when Château Lilian Ladouys was awarded the High Environmental Value (HEV) certification at Level 3, the most esteemed level possible, reflecting their profound commitment to eco-friendly practices and biodiversity. Furthermore, Château Lilian Ladouys is committed to advancing its ecological efforts by adhering to the principles of the Natura 2000 Charter. These environmental measures underscore its firm commitment to continually producing superior wines year after year.
