93-94 A polished and in-check red with blackberry, dark-chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It has a medium body, creamy and round tannins and a savory finish. Well done for this estate. Better than 2022.   JS
93 One of the lowest yields (20 hl/ha) in Margaux due to a change in pruning methods by Ben Sichel and one of the most profound wines of the appellation as a result. Has a richness and concentration that bears comparison with the magnificent 2022. Lovely pure blackcurrant aromas, firm but ripe tannins and fresh acidity make this a fine, harmonious wine that will age splendidly. The whole 32 hectare estate is now certified as biodynamic and the wine continues to be aged one third in 700 litre clay amphorae and two thirds in traditional 225 litre barriques bordelaises principally supplied by the tonnellerie Saint Martin from oak sourced from the forest of Jupille in north west France. 2030-2036 CT
92 Fragrant and highly spiced, this is a gorgeous Angludet with an emphasis on raspberry and black cherry fruit, with freshly cut herbs, slate and tobacco leaf. Biodynamic farming, and another low production year for this lovely estate, clocking in at 20hl/h. 60% barrels for ageing, 40% amphoras.   JA

Chateau Notes
Château Angludet belongs to the Sichel family, Bordeaux wine merchants for six generations. It is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. Records going back to the year 1150 mention a “noble residence” in Angludet, a name which means “Angle of High Land”. The first lord of the manor, referred to in a deed dated 1273, was the knight Bertrand d’Angludet. The vineyard has had practically the same configuration since 1758 – thus for over 250 years – which is exceedingly rare. Diana and Peter Sichel fell in love with Angludet and acquired it in 1961. They undertook a significant renovation and Peter Sichel made constant improvements during the 40 years he was in charge. It is now one of the finest wines in Margaux. After Peter Sichel died in 1998, his wife, Diana, and their six children have continued his efforts to make the best possible wine. Since 1989, Benjamin Sichel has managed the estate and overseen all aspects of viticulture and winemaking. He is also attentive to using natural, sustainable practices in the vineyard.
