Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand, 2023

Probably the world's most famous Sauvignon, the 2023 vintage has appealing aromas of ripe honeydew melon, passionfruit, vibrant citrus and a subtle touch of fresh blackcurrant leaf. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with hints of fresh sea air balancing out the warmth of the ripe fruit notes at the wine’s core. Subtle tropical fruit characters are underpinned by freshening notes of makrut lime, lemongrass, Meyer lemon and a touch of grapefruit skin.

Greywacke Wild Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand, 2021

Kevin Judd, the original winemaker at Cloudy Bay, produces this spectacular, oaked Sauvignon. Distinctive, aromatic and complex, with honeysuckle, candied ginger and a drizzle of wildflower honey. Reveals ripe melon, dried fennel and yellow apple notes that mingle with marmalade, tangerine and a touch of mango on the juicy finish.

Paul Prieur Sancerre Monts Damnes, Loire, France, 2020

Monts Damnes, the best known and greatest site, was the first hill in Sancerre to be planted with vines. The wines produced here are endowed with amazing substance and express all the mineral richness of their terroir. A rich, weighty cuvée is produced, with generous ripe stone and tropical fruit, cut with a rapier-like line of acidity.

Pouilly Fume La Rambarde L et G, Loire, France, 2020

With ten generations of artisanal winemaking at Domaine Landrat-Guyollot, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better Pouilly-Fumé. Elegant and well balanced, with a light smoky aroma and a hint of gunflint and elderberry. It is wonderfully rich with nettles, gooseberry and minerals on the palate, but balanced by good weight of lemony acidity and a full flinty finish. 

Chevilly Quincy La Licorne D Or, Loire, France, 2021

The little known appellation of Quincy, at the eastern end of the Loire, produces really crisp Sauvignon Blanc wines and, at Chevilly, one of the top domaines in the region, Yves Lestourgie has been making wines here for 20 years. Aromatic, with floral notes of broom and boxwood along with citrus fruits and a touch of gunflint. Great value Sauvignon Blanc.

G de Chateau Guiraud Blanc Sec, Bordeaux, France, 2022

Bordeaux is renowned for its fantastic reds, but check out their dry whites as well. A classy, complex nose of passion fruit, mango, lemon tart and gooseberry. Great intensity on the savoury palate with a smokey undertone. Creamy hazelnuts, yuzu zest and green fruits, seasoned with vanilla seeds, lead to a touch of spice on the finish.
