Rosso di Montepulciano Duca di Saragnano, Tuscany, Italy, 2021
The Duca di Saragnano winery, currently led by Marco & Paolo Barbanera, has been making wine in Tuscany since 1938 and their Rosso di Montepulciano is a classic Tuscan blend with the majority being Sangiovese aged in stainless steel tanks. Using fruit from hilly vineyards in Validichiana near the towns of Montepulciano and Siena.
The aroma is deeply vinous with notes of forest berries, cherries and subtle spices, juicy and attractive on the palate with plenty of red and black fruit and soft tannins giving balance on the finish.
We recommend drinking this as the locals do with a meal of cured meats, bread and mature cheeses.
