Grape varieties, a blend of Tuscan grapes mostly Sangiovese and Canaiolo Nero aged in large oak barrels for 18 months.
Intense purple red with a garnet rim. The nose is broad and powerful with notes of violets, red currants, spices and tobacco. In the mouth it has balanced tannins, a fleshy mid palate and a mouth-cleansing finish. Superb accompaniment to roast meats and game, the wine will benefit from decanting.
Produced from the vineyards around the town of Montepulciano in southern Tuscany.
